IT STRATEGY

There are two  principles around which ICT development in MEWD is taking shape. One of these is  (1) that no data or information which is  generated within the Ministry will be  manually collected: All data ought to  flow from office to office using new information systems. The development of institutional information systems will  take care of satisfactory flow of important data and subsequent measurement of important variables.

Good Analysis of Data creates a better understanding of respective sectors leading to their effective management and  formulation of  development interventions..

Another premise of ICT development in the Ministry is to ensure installed systems are  proficiently  put to use. Training staff on how to better handle  personal and  professional productivity tools has been  one of the cardinal focus areas of the envisaged development. Productivity tools  range from  Word Processing to specialized ones such as the Long Range Energy Alternative Planning (LEAP) and the Geographic Information systems (GIS); etc
