Renewable energy sources are increasingly being used but still remain insignificant in terms of contribution to the total national energy supply, renewable energy sources may include the following: solar (thermal and photovoltaic); minil/microhydro ; biomass (agricultural wastes, forestry waste, industrial/municipal organic wastes, energy crops & products and animal waste); geothermal, and wind. These sources have great potential for electricity production and use in the transport sector., Zambia’s rich potential in these sources of energy needs to be fully exploited.
