Department Human Resource and Administration
The Department of Human Resources and Administration is responsible for managing and developing human resources in order to improve performance. It is also responsible for the provision of administrative and logistical support in order to facilitate the effective operations of the Ministry.
The Department is headed by a Director who is assisted by one Assistant Director in performing all human resource management and development matters and the provision and coordination of all administrative support services in the Ministry. There are a number of units in this department which undertake various functions to ensure effective service delivery:
Procurement and supplies unit is responsible for purchasing and supply of goods and services as well as general stores.
General administration provides administrative support services such as office management and general maintenance, transport management, maintenance of equipment and utility services among others.
Accounts unit is responsible for the management and control of the usage of funds released to the Ministry and the collection of non-tax Government Revenue.
Internal Audit unit is responsible for monitoring the utilization of funds by the Ministry. It ensures that the Ministry uses funds in compliance with Government policy, procedures and regulations.
Human Resource Management unit is responsible for recruitment, appointments, promotions, disciplinary cases, leave, and general conditions of service.
Human Resource Development unit is responsible for initiating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating comprehensive human resource development policies and programmes in order to improve staff capacity and performance.
Records management unit is responsible for storage of records, file inventory and dispatch of mails.
